Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hain……That dialogue has been haunting me ever since Farhan Akhtar started promoting his new (or should i say newly old) movie DON……..Being an ardent SRK fan i had to go see that movie………So the day the bookings started i got first day first show tickets for DON…….For one week those tickets were in front of my eyes and i eagerly awaited friday when i could go see the movie…….. To my great joy when i switched on the tv at 9:00 am on friday amitabh’s DOn had just started…….i saw the whole movie and then went at 12:30 to see Shahrukh’s DON……..I must say that Shahrukh has avoided one horrendous situation that could have occured- he did not try to emulate Amitabh……..He portrayed DON in his own style and that made his movie just as special…….A remake of a classic is an extremely huge burden and a challenge and Farhan has lived up to this challenge………Though the movie is frame by frame of the old DON no way is it boring…….In fact the twist at the end of the movie makes up for all the apparent faults that the critics have pointed out……..In the old movie Vijay is the one who pretends to be DON after DON dies……But in this movie DON actually kills Vijay in the hospital and then pretends to be Vijay who is pretending to be DON…*phew* sounds confusing but Farhan has depicted it so well…….I quite enjoyed the movie despite what critics say……I guess shahrukh has silenced all his critics by proving that he is not just a “lover boy” actor……..DON ke dushmano ki sabse badi galti hain ki woh DON ke dushman hain……..

I don’ watch Hindi movies so this doesn’t matter to me much…but why do these people make remakes? Is it because they don’t innovate or is it because they are too lazy to think about anything new…

There was another twist just before the intermission, the one featuring Boman Irani…That twist didnt occur in the original
